Am I the only one still confused about why Pryde is even in TROS? From what little that we've heard

That’s why I don’t believe that Hux is going to be killed off in the first few scenes of TROS, because Pryde would be his replacement, presumably, and why replace Hux with another uppity officer of high rank. It seems totally redundant. I’m hoping that Pryde will be used as a tool to further Hux’s story! It’s reaching but I’m hopeful…and trying to remain positive about this movie!
