I know! I started in fandom when the disclaimer was compulsory and everyone was afraid of being sued/outed as a slash writer because you'd lose your job etc. The relative freedom we have in fandom nowadays is largely down to Ao3, I think. But of course new people in fandom don't realize that or remember all that stuff.
Ha, yes, if Ao3 could only host art and podfics too, nobody would ever have to go anywhere else :)
