Try different things! Find what works best/is most comfortable for YOU.

We’re all different. There’s no ‘one product fits all’ here.

Let’s all be thankful *belted* pads went away, okay? The REAL tumblr oldsters can tell you about those.

wingardium-letmefuckyou:

Okay, I’m gonna go on a rant now about reusable pads because for me they were a life changer!

I didn’t like using normal pads cause they made me feel itchy and uncomfortable and there’s that unpleasant feel of wetness so I used tampons for a long time. The issue with tampons for me is that I have really bad cramps and inserting something like a tampon made them worse (sth to do with muscle tension and shit like that). I then switched to the cup, which is great, feels really clean but didn’t change the issue with the cramps. I still use my cup for swimming and such but not for everyday use. (I wanna say that this is personal and highly encourage everyone to try out a menstrual cup, they are awesome).

Now, here it comes, best discovery of my life!

Reusable pads!!!!! What a blessing.

They are made of fabrics like cotton, bamboo, hemp… You fold them around your underwear and close the little buttons and they don’t move a lot generally. (I would still advise a cup for intense sports and such)

The best thing is: no itchy feeling. These feel soft, just as soft as your underwear. Sometimes I am aware that they are there, sometimes I just forget. It’s never uncomfortable.

There’s an extra absorbant layer in the middle so as long as you change as regurarly as you would with a normal pad there is no feeling of sticky wetness or other irritations.

After you have used them you just wash them and use them again. Bam, extra win, no waste!!!

Yes, the cost is higher in the beginning since you have to buy a bunch and they are more expensive than usual pads but once you have them, you’re set for years to come. I get that an investment like this is not possible for everyone, it took me a while to get enough of them to cover my whole period. For those people I would advise a cup, since you only need to buy one.

Fun fact: these pads come in many adorable prints. I use mostly black ones for convenience (so I can wash them together with my black underwear) but there are polkadots, flowers,… It’s a small thing but honesly, it makes your period just that little bit more cheerful!

Fun fact 2: Look for small businesses that make these. A lot of them employ women in need and give them the tools to take care of themselves and their families. Periods can be empowering too!

Thank you for reading my rant about pads but I hope that one day we can all freely talk about our periods and educate ourselves and each other.

motherofqups:

I’ve never used a reusable? Pad?! But the right menstrual cup could change your life y’all

wingardium-letmefuckyou:

I used to hate pads until I started using the washable, reusable ones. Mind! Blown! They feel so soft, no irritation, great absorption, no feeling of wetness. And less trash! Menstrual cups are great too, by the way.

I just wanna say, look further than the normal options, you might be surprised. And talk about your periods, people. Educate each other!

You know what I’m just gonna say it…. pads are better than tampons, everybody needs to stop lying

you have a fundamental misunderstanding of how math works

hey that means charity will also get unlimited money so I’m game

so both charity and I get unlimited money, sounds like a win win situation.

I would love to be excited by the prospect of interaction between Finn and Hux in Rise of Skywalker–and who knows whether it’s likely or not?–but the way I think it would be written is just … so disappointing in light of how it could be.

I think, probably, it would be a study in simple morality.  Finn is the “good victim” who didn’t turn bloodthirsty and ruthless as a result of his conditioning.  Hux did, and therefore his victimization doesn’t count.  If rejecting conditioning was a possibility for one abused child of the FO, then plainly it was an option for everyone, and those who didn’t reject it deserve the consequences they have chosen.

And I’m pretty sure that if they ever occupy the same physical space again, well, Finn is gonna kill Hux.  Hux is no match for him unless he has an advantage, and narrative privilege is not on his side.  I wonder if anyone would pick up on the irony that, by killing someone who can’t defend himself, Finn would be acting from his stormtrooper training more than he ever has before (Phasma would be proud).

At the same time, how much would it underscore his rejection of what was drilled into him if he … didn’t kill Hux? If he didn’t even make a speech about how justified he’d be in killing Hux.  If he offered him, not necessarily forgiveness, but empathy and compassion.  Solidarity: one victim to another.

Well, first of all, a lot of Finn fans would be PISSED.  Secondly, a lot of film canon only fans would be PISSED.  Star Wars movies can bear the weight of sympathy for 1 (one) villain and no more, it would seem.  And in the ST, Kylo Ren is positioned atop a horde of canonical and audience sympathy already.

But, you know … fanfiction.
