Yeah, that was my experience too. I mean, I went to an all-girls' school and I was *still* aware I was weird for not having or wanting or even thinking about boyfriends. There was a brief period when I became a Christian where I was weird in a positive way because I couldn't understand why 'virtue' was particularly hard. But then I got married and that morphed into being frigid and broken literally overnight. And yes, all of this was without an additional layer of colonialism on top of the idea of my sexuality. Ugh!
