I stayed up all night reading the Servants of the Empire books just so I could discover that Armitage Hux basically spent the first five years of his life living in a military academy that was basically a seaside summer camp from a horror movie complete with hungry tentacle monsters that hunt animals on the beach, and near a creepy af tower where secret societies met plotted and people were tortured for either disloyalty or because they were force sensitive. Also the main method of travel on planet is via insect beasts that are ridden like horses and they have stingers on their butts.
I call that a night well spent.
