considering that coronavirus primarily spreads through coughing/sneezing and people touching their face couldn’t we stop, or at least slow, the spread of it by having everyone wear fursuits?
You laugh but this is literally why plague doctor outfits existed, the mask and the heavy coat stop the patient’s fluids from getting on you, and the walking stick allows you to manipulate patients without needing to touch them. They may not have realized it at the time (no germ theory and all that), and it may not have been the most effective solution, but it was substantially better than nothing.
Medieval people may not have had all our extensive scientific knowledge, but they weren’t idiots. They did what worked.
