Hux: *lying his ass off to an innocent old man* yes you could say Ben inherited genetic traits and behaviors from his biological parents
Reylos: i cannot believe that Ben IS a good person….Hux said so himself

Not surprised that the you-know-whos are using that one panel taken out of context in the Hux comic as validation for B*nd*mpti*n. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I mean, I’m glad that people are getting joy out of that, but it does boggle my mind a little. There’s nothing special about the name Ben. It’s not a magical talisman that means the person who speaks it believes in the essential purity of Kylo’s soul. It doesn’t mean “I believe that underneath his gruff exterior, Kylo is really an innocent boy prince who will return to his destiny of being the galaxy’s saviour in time.”
Hux is using it at this point because it is advantageous to him, not because he believes in the possibility of Kylo’s redemption. (If he did believe that Kylo was inevitably going to turn back to the light, he absolutely wouldn’t think that was a good thing. He’d be pushing Snoke to have Kylo killed.)
In fact when Hux says Kylo is like his mother, you know he means something more like “An overpowered annoyance that I would be glad to be rid of. A thorn in my side.” That’s part of why Hux’s ability to lie by speaking the truth is so amusing. It’s obvious (to those who know him) that he means something quite different from what his listener is hearing.
It always baffles me what fandom will leap on in a piece of canon. It’s never what I expect.
Cool though, that Hux has become the Loki of this franchise. I thought I had branched out from my normal fandom type, but apparently not.
