y’all know that you don’t have to be a top or a bottom right?? and i dont mean that in a ‘switches are valid’ way i literally mean that you dont have to reproduce power dynamics while you’re having sex!! you and your partner can just… fuck… without anyone being in charge or submissive or touched exclusively or not touched at all. im saying this especially to the young queers out there who i know follow me and read fanfiction and engage in online dialogue re: sex, tumblr/twitter/fic-based discourse tends to get muddied and i just want you all to know that it’s really okay to just have sex without worrying about fitting into any specific role!!
and because i think it bears mentioning: IF you do have sexual preferences (and again! you don’t need to have preferences about position! you can just enjoy whatever is currently getting you off!): your personality and sexual preferences don’t need to ‘agree’. hell, your personality probably has nothing to do with your sexual preferences.
vice versa, you dont need to decide on a sexual preference because of your personality. these things dont need to correlate.
as people we’re wired to conform to labels if they seem to fit us. but if someone says you look like a twink/pillow princess/top it literally doesnt need to mean anything. you dont need to try to like something more than you actually do. just enjoy having sex with someone you like. sex doesn’t need to have roles, and you don’t need to try to ‘play your role’. and you especially don’t need to be typecasted into a role you’re not actually that into.
